The American Black Hereford Association is one of the fastest growing beef registry associations in the United States. It’s a great time to be part of a breed founded by combining two icons of the U.S. beef industry for more than 100 years.
The American Black Hereford Association (ABHA) provides programs and services for members and customers, while promoting the Black Hereford breed and supporting education, youth and research. As an ABHA member, you can attend all meetings of the Association and have voting rights on vital breed and industry issues at official membership meetings.
The ABHA partners with Digital Beef for our online registry and EPD search tool. The ABHA’s EPD search gives producers complete access to all reported data and provides the opportunity to evaluate Black Hereford performance. The ABHA partners with International Genetic Solutions (IGS) for our EPD services. IGS manages the largest multi-breed beef cattle evaluation in the world, using the most advanced technology.
The ABHA partners with Digital Beef, a real-time online registry system that provides ABHA members 24/7 access to most record services. Not only does Digital Beef help you conduct Black Hereford business effectively and efficiently, but it is included with your active membership. Contact the ABHA Service team at [email protected] to enroll your herd in electronic registration.
Recording memberships are annual memberships issued by the Association in the name of an individual, farm or ranch, partnership or corporation. There are two types of ABHA memberships: adult memberships and junior memberships (for those under 21 years old). Fees are used to fund regular association operations, advertising and promotion. Members will also receive a quarterly magazine subscription with their fee.
The junior membership is available until the holder reaches his or her 21st birthday. At that time, they may acquire an adult recording membership. Junior members have all the privileges of adult members (except voting), registering and transferring Black Hereford cattle, as well as participating in junior activities. Juniors are also given the opportunity to receive scholarships from the ABHA.
We look forward to having you as a new member of the American Black Hereford Association. Once your application is processed, you will receive your new member packet which includes tips and resources to help you become more involved with the ABHA. The ABHA’s customer service department is here to serve you, please do not hesitate to ask any questions.
